Bangladesh In My Eyes: Lockdown Dhaka: COVID-19

Bangladesh government has imposed a countrywide lockdown to maintain social distance and restrict all sorts of public gatherings due to coronavirus. Passenger travel via sea, rail, and air routes are closed, public transportation on roads will be limited only for emergency cases. First government declared a 10-day lockdown, later extended several times that effects from 26th March to 16th May. All non-essential businesses and educational institutions will be closed except the utility like pharmacies, food markets, other necessities and emergency services like fire service, power, gas, water, telecoms. Our government is trying their best to raise public awareness also deployed military personnel to maintain the public movement.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. The WHO declared the virus a global pandemic on March 11. As a densely populated country, Bangladesh faces significant challenges in combating COVID-19. I am trying my best to maintain govt. rules to save myself and my family. 1st and 4th April I had to go to the office due to an urgent requirement. That time I have taken this pictures. It clearly shows the current situation of Dhaka city. Roads are empty, shop, restaurants are closed. Only emergency services are open. Generally it take 1 hour to go to my office but now I can go in 15 minutes.
